Who we are

The Association des propriétaires d’autobus du Québec (APAQ ) represents more than 200 private bus transportation companies throughout the province of Québec, and has been a privileged Québec bus transportation stakeholder since 1926.

APAQ’s mission is to promote bus transportation as an indispensable component of economic, social, educational and community development. It is a significant player in Québec province’s development in sectors as diverse as education, tourism, reduced mobility access and people moving in rural regions and large municipalities.

With espacebus.ca, APAQ is strengthening its role as a front-line partner with Québec’s tourism and transportation industries. Moreover, espacebus.ca will help sustain the economic focus of Vers un tourisme durable  (Toward Sustainable Tourism), the new tourism policy announced by the ministère du Tourisme in 2005. Under this policy, Québec’s tourism revenues are expected to increase from $9 billion in 2003 to $13 billion in 2010. Espacebus.ca also complements the tourism segment on bonjourquebec.com website, which is now mainly aimed at individual tourists. In addition, espacebus.ca meets one of the main objectives of the Politique québécoise du transport collectif (Québec Public Transit Policy), announced by the ministère des Transports in June 2006, which aims to increase public transit ridership by 8% by 2012.

This portal could not have been put together without both technical and financial support from the ministère du Tourisme and the ministère des Transports. We thank them.
