Specialized Transit

Motorcoach operators want to improve their network of regular services in Canada to ensure access to everyone who has a disability. They provide specialized services with the combination of accessible material and installations, along with trained personnel to help travellers that have disabilities.

There are several ways to meet the needs for regular services in accessible motorcoaches. The application of these methods varies from one region to another. In certain cases, people with disabilities give advance notice to motorcoach operators to facilitate travel plans. 

The Québec Policy Respecting Public Transit is facilitating important progress in this domain. It greatly enhances the accessibility of regular public transit networks in terms of general orientation, but also because of specific accessibility commitments. Because of the importance of transportation, this policy is a major step towards greater integration of those living with disabilities in Québec.
